1.Project description
The educational project of Saint-Nolff (4000 inhabitants in a rural area) aims to contribute to the personal development of the child, through different activities, to help them become responsible citizens, respectful of the environment and respected by all.
We propose to 1 EVS to work with us in the child and youth department to do animations during the extra school time (Wednesday, for the meals and after 15.00 for the school weeks and the whole day during the holidays). We meet the child council every Tuesday and also organize a youth exchange each year in July.
The aim of this project is to enable the discovery and the exchange with other cultures, to feel more European and avoid discrimination. Playful activities will be organized around the discovery of cultures and European citizenship (games, cultural, manual, sport activities, quiz, cooking, discussions…).
2.Volunteer profile
We wish to welcome motivated young people, actors of their learning and interested in working with children and young people. They should be willing to share their culture and look for different and playful activities to reach the aims of the project. They could have a specific tool of animation as music, dance, street entertainments, sport…
The criteria of selection would be based on values defended by the person and the ideas proposed to participate in the building of the project. They should be autonomous as they will live alone in a flat in a rural area.
3.Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The EVS will be accommodated alone in a flat, in the center of Saint-Nolff between the house of the child and the youth house. He/ she will prepare his/her food in the flat or order a meal to eat with the employees during the week. The tickets of transport will be bought by our organization and sent by scan to the EVS. There are buses every day to go to Vannes but not on the evening and on Sunday. Allowances will be paid on a French account which he/she will have opened in France upon his/her arrival.
